ICSA Labs certifies Panda Internet Security 2007
09/20/06.- Panda Internet Security 2007, the new security suite from Panda
Software aimed at home users, professionals and small businesses, has
received certification in the Desktop/Server Anti-Virus Detection category
from ICSA Labs, an independent division of Cybertrust, for its detection of
security threats in Windows XP, without returning false positives. This
certification is confirmation of the quality and effectiveness of the new
solution for Panda Software's 2007 consumer range, which was launched just a
few weeks ago.
Panda Internet Security 2007 detected 100% of viruses from the ‘in-the-wild’
list, as well as all test samples from ICSA Labs, including detection of
polymorphic viruses and viruses known as common infectors and which are
about to be included in the Wild List.
Another certification requirement of ICSA Labs is that the product must also
include an administration interface that allows virus detection to be
enabled or disabled, and the possibility to update the signature file via
the Internet. It must also allow management of the report module, which logs
all incidents such as virus detections and all actions taken.
Panda Internet Security 2007 is a complete security suite that provides
strong protection for computers against Internet threats. The suite includes
technologies to combat not only viruses and spyware, but provides
anti-phishing, parental control, and firewall, anti-spam, and specific
technology to prevent online identity theft: Identity Protect. This
technology is especially designed to prevent personal and confidential data
theft, giving users maximum security when they connect to the Internet.
The new security suite from Panda Software combines and integrates both
proactive and reactive technologies, and includes the award-winning
TruPrevent™ Technologies, which act automatically against new, previously
unknown threats, blocking them without the need for user intervention. Panda
Internet Security 2007 has also been designed especially to avoid impact on
the normal operation of the computer. It is not only optimized to reduce
system resource consumption, but also to adapt to the characteristics of the
PC on which it is installed and to the specific security requirements of the
user.
